ITALY 9 WALES 26
WESTBURY winger Alex Cuthbert helped Wales beat Italy in Rome after scoring a try on the hour of the Six Nations clash.
The Welsh had nudged ahead in a scrappy affair thanks to three penalties from full-back Leigh Halfpenny before former Hartpury student Cuthbert broke through the line with 20 minutes left.
The visitors dominated an Italian pack with Cuthbert making the most of the one-man advantage when Leicester tight head Martin Castrogiovanni was shown a yellow card at the scrum moments before.
After narrowly leading 9-6 at the break following penalties from Halfpenny and Italy fly-half Kris Burton, Scarlets centre Jonathan Davies crashed over five minutes into the second period.
A great kick and chase by stand-off Dan Biggar won a turnover before scrum-half Mike Phillips sent an awkward box kick to the corner with the bounce bamboozling Italy's halfbacks.
The ball spat up perfectly into Davies' arms who happily touched down with Halpenny converting before the Cardiff added another penalty and Cutbert struck.
