Pupils at The King's School in Gloucester took part in a science challenge today, along with 15 other schools.
The annual event sees budding scientists building something different each year, depending on the brief set.
They are given two hours to come up with a design and to a build the prototype and test its performance.
Last year pupils designed and built a wind turbine from the materials provided.
The Judges then looked at the design, the teamwork of each group and the logo design.
The winners last year were St John's-on-the-hill, Chepstow followed by Hopelands School in second and The King's Junior School who were third.
