A man has been left trapped in his vehicle following a collision near Gloucester.
Fire and Rescue crews were called out to the A48 at Minsterworth after the accident shortly after 6am.
Police said the route would be closed for several hours with diversions in place between Gloucester and the Forest of Dean.
Firefighters and ambulance crews were at the scene this morning trying to extricate the man from his vehicle.
Traffic was heavy along the A40 this morning following the closure of the A48.
