PRINCESS Anne was in Gloucester this morning to officially open the city's Blackbridge Athletics Track.
The track, off Podsmead Road, has undergone a £380,000 makeover financed by Gloucester City Council, Sport England and local athletes.
It will be run by Gloucester Athletics Track Management Ltd and will enable a range of club and county fixtures to take place.
Richard Blackwell, a director of the charity, said: "This is a huge honour not just for the new track but for the sport in the City. It is a great privilege to be afforded a Royal visit and we are extremely grateful to the many people who have made this event possible."
