GAVCA can continue to help Tewkesbury charities and voluntary groups to network and explore new and collaborative ways of working after securing funding from the Summerfield Trust.
GAVCA, the Gloucestershire Association for Voluntary and Community Action, ran a series of networking Forum meetings throughout Tewkesbury Borough last year.
Now thanks to the funding secured from the Summerfield Trust the charity can continue to organise Forum meetings throughout 2013.
Grassroots groups and larger established charities are all eligible to attend the meetings, with the first scheduled for Tuesday March 5 between 10am – 12 noon at Highnam Community Centre, Highnam.
The £5,000 grant from the Summerfield Trust will also enable Development Worker Mary Boucher to identify additional community groups in the borough and facilitate partnership working wherever possible.
"Sharing good ideas and receiving support from GAVCA at our Tewkesbury Forum meetings has the potential to significantly improve the effectiveness of Tewkesbury voluntary groups which will benefit the wider community as a whole," said Mary Boucher.
Anna Jennings, Activities Co-ordinator at Active Northway, was delighted to hear that the Tewkesbury Forum meetings will be continuing in 2013.
"Tewkesbury Borough is such a large and diverse geographic area with so many voluntary and community groups it is really useful for us all to come together to share best practice and support each other," said Anna.
