CLOTHING retailer Republic is no longer accepting gift vouchers after going into administration.
Shops in Gloucester's Eastgate Street and Cheltenham High Street are among the 121 branches which could be under threat.
News of its financial troubles first emerged two weeks ago and it said up to half its stores could be shut.
On Wednesday, Ernst & Young was appointed administrator.
A spokeswoman said stores will continue to trade with a view to selling the business as a going concern.
She said: "Vouchers have been suspended while we assess the financial position."
The company has 2,500 employees and 150 people from its Leeds head office have been made redundant.
