County Olympic gold  medalists Pete Reed and  Alex Gregory  will be in action in Boston, Lincolnshire, on Saturday at the GB Rowing Team's second Winter Assessment Trials.

Nailsworth Naval officer Reed, and Wormington's Gregory, will team up as a pair for a gruelling 5km time-trial.

The two won gold in the men's four at the London 2012 Olympics, beating Australia into second and the USA into third.

GB rowing team performance director Sir David Tanner said:  "This is very much a transitional season for us.

"A home Games is a very unique experience and many of our rowers have taken extended breaks.

"Boston will help us shape our team for the opening World Cup in Sydney next month".

Gloucester Olympic finalist Beth Rodford, who came sixth in the women's quadruple scull, will also be taking part in the women's open weight single trial.

The World Cup in Sydney runs from Friday, March 22 to Sunday, March 24
