Paul Benson's loan move to Cheltenham Town will go through in the next 24 hours after the forward agreed to make the switch to the Abbey Business Stadium.
The 33-year-old striker changed his mind about the possibility of joining the League Two club over the weekend and looks set to pen a deal at with Mark Yates' side until the end of the season.
Swindon Town boss Paolo Di Canio today confirmed that the transfer is close to completion, and he praised Benson for his efforts in a Swindon shirt.
"I think there is a good situation. In the next few hours we will find out if we can go through," Di Canio said.
"He's positive now and he gave his availability to try to get there and we will see. Now we know that he wants to go and Cheltenham want to have him.
"Paul is a fantastic lad, a fantastic professional and a very good player. Last year he was one of the main reasons why we went up. The fact that he joined us gave more belief to the others and more options up front and he scored many goals for us.
"In League One I tried to play in a different way, not with a typical target up front even if he works so hard around the field. I would like to play more directly but attack the space. It's not his best characteristic.
"At his age, even if he is a very fit and very athletic player and very professional, I thought this year was very difficult for him. I tried at the beginning and it didn't work the way that I wanted, that doesn't mean he can't play in League One - he can probably play in the Championship.
"But in the way I want to play it is difficult for him to find the space, so it was fair for me to say to him that he has got the opportunity to move somewhere where he can be the protagonist."
