Around 3,000 homes in Dursley were left without power this morning.
Western Power Distribution, who are responsible for maintaining the area's power network, say they have been working hard to resolve the issue.
By 10am there was just 140 households still without power.
A spokesperson for the power firm said: "There was a fault on our underground network at 3.50am.
"The problem should be completely resolved by around late morning."
