GUNS and drugs have been seized by police in a raid at homes in Cheltenham.

Three men were arrested on Friday (Jan 11) at two houses in Lipson Road.

A 52-year-old man from the town was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after officers seized four shotguns, a handgun and ammunition from one of the addresses.

He was also arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis after 19 cannabis plants were found in a shed behind the property.

The man has since been bailed to return to the police station in April.

A second warrant was carried out at another home on the road where officers recovered a third of a kilo of cannabis, cash and drugs paraphernalia.

Two men from Cheltenham, a 32-year-old and a 29-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of the supply of cannabis.  Both have been bailed to return to Cheltenham police station in March.

Officers said one of the ways that members of the public can help keep Gloucestershire safe is by reporting the use or supply of illegal drugs to police by dialling 101.

A spokesman said: "Any information received is taken very seriously and will be acted on where appropriate."
