The organisers of 2000trees festival have announced the line-up of their new venture ArcTanGent, a "weird and wonderful" music festival boasting post-rock bands and quality food.
Three Trapped Tigers, 65daysofstatic and Tall Ships are on the bill, as are Rolo Tomassi, Maybeshewill, Johnny Foreigner and Castrovalva.
Yndi Halda, This Town Needs Guns and Among Brothers are also set to perform at the Somerset festival in August.
ArcTanGent organisers in 2007 launched popular Gloucestershire festival 2000trees. It has grown into a 6,000-capacity event which sells out every year months in advance.
The first 14 bands in the ArcTanGent line-up have been announced as tickets go on sale from 9am.
ArcTanGent festival will take place at Fernhill Farm, Compton Martin, Somerset between August 29 and 31.
Sheffield band 65daysofstatic will headline on Friday August 30.
Other bands due to perform will be announced over the coming months.
ArcTanGent organisers say the independent festival, which has a capacity of 5,000, will be friendly and intimate, with a fan-driven line-up.
ArcTanGent director James Scarlett told This is Bristol: "We're very excited to have 65daysofstatic playing. They headlined 2000trees last year and went down amazingly.
"They may not have headlined at other festivals but they have a real hard-core following.
"The bands announced today set out what kind of festival it's going to be. It's guitar but less commercial – more weird and wonderful."
James said he had toured the country to see bands play live before deciding who to invite to perform at ArcTanGent.
"There were about 1,000 bands on my list. I also speak to people in the music industry I respect, and then approach the bands' agents," he explained.
"The bands are really up for it. It's not often they get to play festivals where bands are in the same genre.
"It's quite a unique line-up. It's aiming for a specific type of fan and bands."
Ric Phethean of Tall Ships said: "2000trees is the king of vibes. The two years we've played have been two of the best shows we've ever done – great bands, good times.
"It's the only festival we make sure we can play and then stay for the rest of the weekend, so we really can't wait for ArcTanGent."
Meanwhile John Helps of Maybeshewill said: "2000trees is easily one of our favourite UK festivals so it's an absolute privilege to be asked to be involved in their new event.
"The rest of the line-up we've seen so far is exceptional, and we're hugely excited that we get to play the first one."
All 5,000 tickets go on sale today from 9am. Tickets, which are £59 for the weekend, can be purchased online at www.arctangent.co.uk.
"We expect it to sell out pretty quickly – 2000trees sells out way in advance," said James.
