Friends and family of teenager Ty Townsley, who died last weekend, gathered in their hundreds to pay their respects last night.
Loved ones gathered at the Wagon Works, in Tuffley Avenue, at 6pm when they released lanterns into the sky.
Each one had a message written on it to Ty, who died in his sleep in the early hours of Sunday January 6.
Tracy Salisbury's son Elijah Weir, best friend to Ty, organised the event.
Tracy said: "It was amazing to see so many people there, it just showed how loved Ty was."
Today a minute's silence will be held at the Coney Hill RFC Under 17s game in memory of Ty, who played for the Under 16s at the club.
