CINDERFORD 36 ROSSLYN PARK 21 Cinderford ended their three-match losing run in National One with a bonus-point win over third placed Rosslyn Park at Dockham Road. Defeat at home to leaders Ealing, coupled with losing trips to Loughborough and Coventry had the Foresters' confidence shaken over the festive period after dropping to ninth. But Andy Deacon's men got back into the groove in emphatic style following the five-try success and they will look to continue their new-found momentum in their trip to Macclesfield next Saturday. Park were first on the board with a penalty from fly-half Ross Laidlow after three minutes with opposite number Mark Davies missing one of his own for Cinderford four minutes later. But the home side took the lead through Lloyd Stapleton's try when he looped round the outside on 13 minutes with Davies hitting the post with the extras. Park back into it though with a second Laidlow penalty four minutes later to regain the advantage before the Foresters got their second try with a quarter of the game gone. A number of pick and go's saw prop Nick Selway burrow over under the posts with Davies easily improving to go 12-6 up but another Laidlow penalty cut the gap again after 27 minutes. However, Cinderford centre Kai Done cut a great line through the Londoners' defence to score his side's third try after half an hour with Davies on target again. Right on half-time Park full-back Edward Lewis-Pratt fired up the touch line to score with Laidlow's kick making it 19-16 at the break. Cinderford made a great start to the second period with the catch and drive lineout handing hooker Tom Bozzard his ninth try of the season but more importantly it secured his team a bonus point. Davies' kick was a formality and on 49 minutes Bozzard got his second and his team's fifth when the ball ricocheted into his hands for an easy run in. Davies again split the posts to stretch out to 33-16 before Lewis-Pratt squeezed over in the corner for his second try on the hour with Laidlow off target. Davies pulled clear with a penalty moments later restoring the 15-point lead with Park finishing the game with 14 men after prop Laurence Ovens was sin-binned for taking a man out in the lineout.
