POP star hopeful Kitty Brucknell returned to her roots by singing in her childhood church.
The Cheltenham-born singer, who found fame last year while on the TV talent show X Factor, sang Silent Night at Christchurch.
After entertaining worshippers by singing at two Christingle shows on Christmas Eve, she said her parents had arranged it with church officials and she had been delighted to oblige.
"I wanted to do something for the community and I really enjoyed it," she said.
The vicar, the Reverend Tim Mayfield, said the event raised £1,200 for the Children's Society, up on the normal amount of £700.
He added: "Kitty was sensational with her jazz piano accompaniment."
