MORE than 300 daring swimmers turned up for the annual Christmas swim at Cheltenham Lido this morning.
A group of nearly 400 people turned up at the outdoor pool in Keynsham Road to make a splash, with many going back more than two lengths.
Organiser Ron Coltman said it was the biggest turnout they ever had.
He said: "It's absolutely fantastic so many people would come. Some have been coming for 30 to 40 years, and this is the most I've seen."
Penny Farmer,70, from Cheltenham, has been doing it for 28 years, and said it was a great experience.
She added: "We had about six people when we first started. It has really grown! Look at all queuing here and the huge turnout. It's like Sainsbury's in here!"
