Champion jockey AP McCoy will ride The Giant Bolster in the William Hill King George VI Chase for Stow-on-the-Wold trainer David Bridgwater.
The Giant Bolster's usual jockey Tom Scudamore is required to ride Grands Crus for trainer David Pipe in the same race, at Kempton on Boxing Day, so Bridgwater has signed up the 17-time champion to ride his stable star.
The Giant Bolster finished second under Scudamore in the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March and third under the same jockey on his comeback run at Haydock last month.
McCoy has won the King George once, aboard three-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Best Mate in 2002.
