An 18-year-old man arrested in connection with an alleged rape in Cheltenham town centre has been released by police.
Police cordoned off the car park off Bath Road, near the junction with Bath Parade, in the early hours of Friday morning after a 22-year-old woman reported she had been raped.
Forensic experts spent several hours painstakingly combing the area for evidence.
Officers later arrested an 18-year-old man, from Tetbury, on suspicion of rape.
However, he was subsequently released without charge and police said they would be taking no further action against him.
It is not believed officers are looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, which was reported at 3.45am on Friday.
The alleged victim was said to be recovering from the ordeal.
"She is receiving all the appropriate support in the circumstances," said a force spokesman.
Anyone with information should call the police on 101.
