CHARITY shop staff are dismayed after a thief stole a gold ring which would have been sold to help elderly people.
A nine carat amethyst ring was pilfered from the Age UK shop in Bath Road, Cheltenham, on Tuesday.
It was on sale for £60 and displayed in a glass cabinet when it was taken.
Shop manager Sheila Gidley said: "We can't believe someone would stoop so low as to steal from a charity shop.
"Obviously we raise money for elderly people in need, so that's £60 they'll miss out on."
