EMERGENCY cash is still being handed out to victims of last month's flooding.
But some of them will not make it home for Christmas.
The county council pledged £50,000 to help deal with the crisis which saw homeowners in Wooton, Maisemore, Sandhurst, Stroud and Lydbrook worst hit.
Some had to be evacuated from their homes and Gloucestershire Community Foundation (GCF) has been dishing out money to help them.
Grants manager Gail Mattocks said it had £25,000 to hand out in the first phase to cover costs such as B&B stays, clothing and sandbags.
She said it had processed 68 applications and paid out £17,250 so far.
"Some people have been overwhelmed to get this as they didn't expect it. They have been so grateful. We are aware of some that won't be at home for Christmas though."
She added: "Unfortunately we have also had a couple of applications that have not been legitimate but we have been working with parish councils and the emergency services and know the areas that have been affected."
The foundation is still taking applications for the first phase of money and expects to hand out funds to another 20 or so people before Christmas.
A second phase of payments will then start in the new year with people being given another £750 to help repair damage caused their homes.
