A FAMILY received a rude awakening when a lorry crashed into a house in the early hours of this morning.
The lorry left the A40 at about 5am near to the Whittington junction before hitting the home.
The vehicle became stuck in the house and police had to close the road for about an hour while it was removed.
Nobody inside the house was hurt in the incident but the driver of the lorry was treated at the scene having suffered minor leg injuries.
A structural engineer was quickly on the scene and after surveying the damage the verdict was that part of the house will have to be rebuilt.
The incident was resolved by 10am.
