FAIRYTALE characters and reindeer were at the opening of the first Gloucester Quays Festive Fayre today.
Stars of the Everyman Theatre's panto Dick Whittington opened the event.
It runs all weekend and is a one-stop-shop for Christmas presents and food.
Centre of attention were reindeers Jingle and Bells owned by Gemma Correia from Westbury-on-Severn.
She said: "My family is Christmas mad and this is great fun.
"The children always ask where Rudolph is."
Two-year-old Annabelle Clay went to meet them with sister Lizzy, six months, mum Emma and dad Andy.
Emma said: "We've come along to get in the festive spirit."
Shakeel Wangnoo from Kashmir Dream is there selling boxes and rugs handmade by families from his homeland
He said: "They are one-of-a-kind and make the perfect Christmas present."
Cheryl Haines is there to launch her new business Broadlands Pottery.
And Innes Spencer got up at 2am on Thursday to catch fresh fish ready to sell at the fayre.
He said: "Seafood is a healthier alternative to a traditional Christmas roast."
