Gloucester got off lightly in the recent flooding across the county, the city council's chief has said.
Chief executive Julian Wain said: "It is reassuring that in Gloucester we have suffered little serious flooding in the way that we did in 2007.
"The flood resilience work that has been undertaken since then seems to have made a big difference.
"However, residents and businesses in the city should be reassured that we will remain vigilant and will continue to work with our partners to ensure the ongoing safety of Gloucester."
