These images show the drama which unfolded in the Forest of Dean following a gas explosion.
Gloucestershire Police were called to reports of an explosion at a house in Coleford this morning.
A 43 year old man was found at the property in High Nash with serious injuries and was taken to South Mead Hospital in Bristol where he is currently undergoing surgery.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service said: "There has been a gas explosion and there are no fatalities but the fire service did rescue one male who has serious injuries."
The house adjoining the property had to be evacuated. Nobody else was in the property at the time and nobody else was injured in the explosion.
The property is being examined by structural engineers and the cause of the explosion is being investigated.
Police are currently not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.
