Dave Wilson has been ruled out of the remainder of England's Six Nations campaign.
The 29-year-old Bath prop has suffered a neck injury which requires surgery and will be out of action for up to three months.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's clash with Italy and Twickenham Stuart Lancaster confirmed the news.
He said: "David has seen the specialist and will be out for the Six Nations.
"He's booked in for an operation tomorrow that will relieve his nerve impingement. He'll be out for 10-12 weeks."
Lancaster has named an unchanged side for the second round of the Championship, keeping faith with the 23 that triumphed against Wales. Gloucester's Jonny May lines up on the wing while Billy Twelvetrees is on the bench.
