Gloucester have been handed a double boost with both Charlie Sharples and Henry Trinder set to return to action against Leicester Tigers on Friday.
Sharples has been out of action since suffering a deep laceration to his leg in the Premiership victory over Saracens last month but is poised to wear the fullback jersey at Welford Road.
That will allow James Hook to switch back to his preferred position to partner Dan Robson at half-back.
Meanwhile Henry Trinder, who has played just two games for the Cherry and Whites this season, is also due to make his long-awaited comeback.
The star centre suffered a serious shoulder injury against Sale Sharks in September, which required surgery, and was set to return to Gloucester colours over Christmas. But he sustained a hamstring injury while on the comeback trail for Hartpury.
He is unlikely to start the Premiership encounter but is fit and available for a spot among the replacements.
Head coach Laurie Fisher said: "Charlie has trained really well this week, he's fresh and ready to go.
"His work at full-back in the few games he played there before his injury was very good. His reading of the game, his kick return, pace and decision-making will be very important for us at the back.
"Fly-half is where Hooky has played most of his rugby this season and that's the most likely scenario.
"The two Premiership games at the beginning of the year against Exeter and Saracens were two of his best games for us in the number 10 jumper.
"Trinder is also available for selection this weekend. It's unlikely that you would start him in a game of this nature but we're hoping to give him some bench time."
Gloucester are currently unbeaten in 2015, having won six from six in all competitions. They triumphed over Leicester earlier this year but have not won at Welford Road in their last seven attempts.
Fisher believes the next month will go a long way to shaping the Cherry and Whites' league season – they face London Welsh (home), Wasps (away) and Northampton Saints (home) following this fixture.
But with all-important momentum in tow, the Australian boss reckons it is a good time to venture into the Tigers' den.
He said: "There's four points up for grabs and both sides will be going at it. They have a great record at home and a lot of pride but we will turn up and do our best.
"To be able to win six from six, and two good games in the LV=Cup, is great for confidence and the guys are bouncing around and enjoying training.
"To have some of their best players away will weaken them but they are just such a tough side anywhere but particularly at Welford Road.
"We're not going to bash them out of the game but we need to make sure our set-piece is very good. From there it's work-rate, consistency and teamwork.
"This is a crucial four week block, a tough one and we just have to work away and not worry too much about the table. We have to take each week as it comes, make sure we grow as a team and that we're getting everything in place to be successful.
"We're happy with the guys stepping up, they've trained well, prepared well and we can put our best foot forward on Friday."
