Nick Walshe has given his Gloucester young guns a licence to thrill in their LV=Cup clash with the Ospreys today.

The Cherry and Whites have to win both of their remaining games in the pool stages of the Anglo-Welsh competition to have any chance of reaching the semi-final stage.

Walshe has selected a strong side with a sprinkling of youth for the Kingsholm encounter with Aled Thomas captaining the team from full-back.

Steph Reynolds and 18-year-old Ollie Thorley, who in 2013 became the youngest player to represent the club in the professional era, line up on the wings.

But the pack features more first team experience with Darren Dawidiuk, Dan Murphy and Sila Puafisi in forming a powerful front row, Elliott Stooke at lock and a welcome return for Jacob Rowan in the back row.

And while a victory will be essential to maintain any hope in the competition and momentum in the season generally, Walshe still wants his side to pull no punches.

He said: "This is as important as any other game, we want to win, we want as good a performance as any against the Ospreys, take the game to them and try to keep this winning run going.

"We want to keep that momentum going, we've won our last four games and we want to keep going.

"This competition is massively important to the club and gives the guys an opportunity to get some experience and show the coaches what they can do.

"Of course there's that developmental side, to give these younger guys a chance to play but we want to perform well and get win.

"The guys putting on that Gloucester jersey are absolutely desperate to do well. There's huge pride in playing for Gloucester at Kingsholm.

"I want the boys to go out and express themselves, the pressure is off in a way because Saracens are in the driving seat. But I want us to play with good tempo and have a real crack at the Ospreys.

"If something comes of it and we get through fantastic but regardless we are here to win our next two games and that's the focus."

It had been expected that the Ospreys' Gloucester-bound tight-head Nicky Thomas would feature in the encounter but he has been left out of the squad. However Sam Davies, the son of former Gloucester director of rugby wears the number 10 jersey.

Saracens are currently top of Pool A, leading by three points and face London Welsh (away) and Exeter Chiefs (home) in their final two fixtures.
