Cobi Ho and Liz Hedges have been crowned Mr and Miss Gloucester 2015 at a glitzy ceremony.

More than 100 supporters cheered on the 11 finalists as they strutted their stuff on the catwalk at The Registry on Thursday night.

The nine Miss Gloucester contestants were scored in three separate categories - an eco outfit round, where the girls used their creative skills to create all sorts of eye-catching outfits, a clubwear round, and confidence on the microphone when interviewed.

The two Mr Gloucester contestants were welcomed onto the stage in a smart outfit round before being interviewed.

Liz Hedges, 22, from Barton, was crowned the winner of Miss Gloucester and will now go on to represent the city at the Miss England competition.

She will also be an ambassador for the city attending a number of events over the next 12 months.

Liz, a wine consultant at Laithwaites, in Brockworth, said: "I really can't believe it, I'm so shocked.

"I thought someone else would win. It is a big year for Gloucester so I am so pleased.

"I am really looking forward to the charity side of the role as I have done a lot of volunteer work including at an animal shelter, an infant school and a residential home.

"I can't wait to get started as Miss Gloucester."

The judging panel included Citizen editor Jenny Eastwood, Lily Atkinson from Gloucester Quays, Jody Gooding from Marketing Gloucester, Kev Wise from Miss England and Sophie Smith who is reigning Miss Cheltenham.

The winning pair won a £100 gift card from Gloucester Quays and will appear in the Gloucester Quays Style Festival catwalk in November. Mr Gloucester also won a ticket to Sportbeat Festival this summer.
