A new charity campaign is set to be bigger than the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
The SmearforSmear social media campaign involves participants posting pictures of themselves with smeared lipstick.
Like the Ice Bucket Challenge, those taking part are asked to nominate friends and family to do the same.
It has been spearheaded by charity, Jo's Cancer Trust and is aimed at raising awareness during Cervical Cancer Awareness Month in January.
It is hoped that more women will get regular smear tests.
Cervical cancer is the most common cancer in women under 35.
To date, more than 1,200 images show up under the #SmearforSmear hashtag on Instagram, with more onTwitterandFacebook. Public figures, including model Georgia May Jagger and musician Rita Ora,have also supported the campaign.
