A man has been banned from the Merrin, in Mitcheldean for anti-social behaviour.

Stuart Guest from Cinderford now cannot enter the area for 12 months following an Injunction Order at Gloucester County Court.

Severn Vale Housing made the application for an injunction in August 2014 because they claimed Mr Guest was causing criminal damage and anti-social behaviour at one of its properties.

An interim order was made, however he breached this order and, as a result, he was remanded in custody for six days until the hearing on January 26.

Mr Guest is now banned from entering the Merrin at all. He is also prohibited from any anti-social behaviour, using or threatening violence and shouting or swearing in and around any Severn Vale Housing home.

A power of arrest was attached to the Injunction. This means that if Mr Guest ignores the injunction, the police have the power to arrest him and bring him back to court.

Sally Howell, Tenancy and Estates Manager at Severn Vale Housing said, "We are pleased with the outcome of this case because it is important that people understand that there will be consequences if they cause anti-social behaviour. At Severn Vale Housing we will continue to work with our partners at Gloucestershire Constabulary to protect our customers and our communities."

If anyone sees Mr Guest in the Merrin, they are encouraged to report it to the Police by calling 101, quoting Incident Number 47 of 20 January 2015.
