Nathan Sykes will become the first member of disbanded pop group The Wanted to launch a solo career.
The Sun reports that the 21-year-old from Gloucester has signed a deal with Capital Radio owner Global and has been working on material for his debut album for 12 months.
Got a good feeling about 2015

One track apparently documents his break-up from pop siren Ariana Grande.
Nathan told The Sun: "The time we broke up was really tough. The Wanted decided to take a break and I lost my grandad. I was not in the best place.
"She was my first grown-up relationship, but sometimes you have to go into a place like that to be able to find the best music out of it.
"The most emotional song is about me telling myself not to be so angry at the break-up because sometimes things just don't work out. That's life."
He added: "We split because of the long distance thing. There was that amazing moment at the start of the relationship where we both convinced ourselves 'yeah, long distance won't matter, it will be fine'. But it was impossible."

On The Wanted's break-up, he told the newspaper: "No-one's really angry with each other, to my understanding anyway. It happened naturally, we all just felt it was slowing down a bit.
"We had an honest conversation and said we should have something to come back to. We didn't want to be one of those bands that go on and on and people think 'God, are they still here?'.
"No-one knows what the future holds but I don't see any reason why The Wanted can't one day come back."
