Police are continuing with their enquiries into a fatal machete attack outside a Gloucester pub in the early hours of this morning.
Three friends were attacked outside the Pike and Musket in Windsor Drive at 12.38am.
Zac Evans, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 22-year-old man was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with serious injuries, where he underwent surgery. He is now in a stable condition. An 18-year-old local man also sustained minor injuries.
Police arrested a man at 2.30pm today, Saturday, on suspicion of murder in relation to their investigation.
People at the scene have reported seeing a bloodied hand print on the side of a white van.
Speaking from Zac's family home, a spokesperson said: "It's something that should never have happened.
"We only know what we have been told by people that were with him. One of them has gone into hospital and the other one came to see us this morning.
"You don't expect this to happen in a local pub. It is a lovely, friendly place.
"This is not something that happens in Gloucester, you read about these things on the news but it doesn't happen on your doorstep, and doesn't happen to someone you know.
"We just need to find this person and bring them to justice."
The teenager's mum Sylv Evans also gave a poignant tribute to her son.
Posting on Facebook she said: "Words cannot describe how heartbroken we are.
"A wonderful son, brother, grandson, boyfriend and friend. You will be greatly missed. A hole in my heart cannot be filled.
"Rest in peace my beautiful son xxxxx"
Lifelong friend of Zac, Harry Lauder, laid flowers on the pavement outside the pub with a message saying 'Sleep well young man, you and your memories will never be forgotten. Hope to see you again one day."
Warehouseman Harry said: "We have been best mates since we first went to school together as little ones. I just can't take in what's happened.
"He was such a good kid, never did anything bad, and suddenly this happens. I think he was just out with his mates for a couple of drinks last night and someone came for them with this machete. I mean, no-one goes out with a thing like that unless they mean trouble.
"I was working last night and my girlfriend rang this morning and told me had been killed. I was just in shock. I couldn't believe it.
"I last saw him a couple of weeks ago and we played some X-Box and just hung out together. He had a job, doing something like me in a warehouse, I think.
"He has a lovely family - a twin brother and an older brother and sister. They're all going to be devastated by this. My heart goes out to them all - I couldn't go through what they are going through today. I feel very, very sorry for them.
"He just wasn't the type of lad to get into situations like this. He didn't often go out at night even.
"His girlfriend will be in pieces too. They had been going out for quite a long time."
Police have called a press conference at 5pm today where more details are expected to be revealed.
Gloucestershire Police are treating this as a murder investigation and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened in the pub's car park or was in the area around the time of the incident and may have seen something which may help with enquiries.
They are asked to call 101 quoting incident number 12 of 24/01/15.
