LOW cost homes provider Two Rivers Housing has issued a warning to residents about bogus contractors.
Two Rivers is concerned that thieves could be impersonating members of its teams to try and gain access to vulnerable people's homes, following incidents in Bream and Coleford.
Chief executive Garry King stressed the importance of safety precautions when dealing with callers to the home.
"We are in the process of reminding all tenants to be as attentive as possible when granting access to properties," he said.
"Residents should always ask to see identification and if there are any doubts at all we would ask that they contact the office straight away on our Freephone number 0800 316 0897."
He said residents should ask for identification when they are expecting workmen.
All Two Rivers' repairs staff wear uniforms, carry identification cards and arrive in branded vans.
